Commodity Watch: Zinc futures rise on higher turnover

New Delhi: Zinc prices on Thursday rose Rs 1.90 to Rs 307.80 per kilogram in futures trade amid a pick-up in spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc contracts for January delivery traded higher by Rs 1.90 or 0.62 per cent to Rs 307.80 per kilogram with a business turnover of 790 lots. Marketmen said the widening of positions by participants, following a pick-up in demand from consuming industries, kept zinc prices higher in the futures trade.

Aluminium futures rise on fresh bets

Aluminium prices rose Rs 1.65 to Rs 280.95 per kilogram in the domestic futures trade as speculators built up fresh positions amid a positive trend in the spot market. Aluminium for delivery in January climbed 0.59 per cent in a business turnover of 983 lots.

Copper futures gain on spot demand

Copper futures rose 0.75 per cent to Rs 1,103.20 per kilogram due to higher spot demand. Copper contracts for January delivery grew Rs 8.25 in a business turnover of 2,579 lots.
